I have changed some minor things in the picture and made a photo with my digital camera. I didn't like the look of the "scan-puzzle", I think it looks better that way. I also changed the frame and added the "Sons of Gondor"-scripture.
One thing I intended with the portraits was to show the difference of their characters in the picture, I hope this is working. Some people told me that Boromir really looks very fierce, which was my intention. Boromir is the fighter, the grim warrior and maybe we can get a glimpse here about the dark fate that lies ahead of him. Faramir, however, is the thinker, the "gentleman" and the philosopher. That's why I drew Boromir with this grim expression and Faramir's is more relaxed with a bemused smile playing around his lips.
The picture is made with Faber Castell pencils (B, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), a mechanical pencil on Canson paper - free hand of course. I enhanced the contrast, added the frame and scripture with Paint Shop Pro.
HAH! I love! I give you a hug and a doughnut! (in a dory sing song vocie) Hurray for R-O-T-K. Hurray for R-O-T-K! Can you tell I a geek! No not really. Just LOTR obbsesed.
It looks so life like... and I'm no one to be saying this (I couldn't draw like that if my life depended on it) but you're right about the nose. He reminds me of one of my Uncles. ^_^;
lovely work! i really like all of the things you've been uploading in the past couple of days...you have an awesome hand with charcoal and pencil drawings!
that's amazing! WELL done! *sniff* Boromir's gone....

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
